About the owners of Arawan Artistry Aesthetics.

Sunshine de la Cruz has been a registered nurse since 2001, working in critical care units such as the surgical ICU, medical ICU, and burn ICU.

She is familiar with sterile techniques ensuring the highest hygiene experience possible to prevent hospital-acquired infections.

Working in the burn intensive care unit deepened her understanding of altered and compromised skin conditions.

In 2021, Sunshine began her journey as a transformational restorative, clinical and cosmetic micropigmentationist. Her mission is to spread happy patient experiences and empower each individual, to regain their beauty-confidence through her personalized self-care solutions.

She dedicates her time in promoting access to her signature services in micropigmentation and scar camouflaging to the community of breast cancer survivors, gender affirmation patients, people with alopecia, someone with trichotillomania, and lip repair (cleft lip).

Arawan Artistry was the beginning of Sunshine’s professional journey in the aesthetic industry. She is multi-certified in micropigmentation serving high-profile leaders in multi-industry professional settings, such as nurses, doctors, pharmacists, therapists, lawyers, real estate brokers, interior designers, and teachers with her personalized services.

A year after developing Arawan, Sunshine combined forces with her husband, Eric de la Cruz. They have known each other since high school and have worked together as an ICU nurse and surgeon at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (Bethesda, MD) and Brian Allgood Army Community Hospital (Yongsan, South Korea).

While Eric was rounding to see his patients in the ICU and to visit Sunshine, one of their nurse friends called Eric “Dr. Sunshine” by accident and the nickname stuck ever since.

Eric graduated from medical school at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He completed his surgical residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and his trauma fellowship at Shock Trauma in Baltimore, MD.

He partnered with his wife to be the physician owner for the aesthetic and wellness clinic they are establishing. As they combined forces, as a husband and wife, nurse-doctor duo, Arawan Artistry Aesthetics came to fruition.

Together, they formed a unique boutique clinical space for a diversified community in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Stayed tuned because a lot of valuable services will be coming soon.
